Why this USDA meat recall was issued
FSIS discovered the problem during surveillance activities and determined the products were produced without federal inspection and distributed with a false USDA inspection mark.
Federal meat inspection is intended to verify that regulated products are produced under required inspection and food-safety controls. FSIS said food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria or other contaminants.
That warning does not mean those contaminants were confirmed in every recalled product. The specific issue identified is production without federal inspection and use of a false inspection mark.
USDA meat recall: which products are included?
The recall covers a wide range of raw beef, pork and goat products distributed under the A&D Foods label, including goat cuts, sliced ribeye, beef chuck, oxtail, short ribs, beef feet, ground pork, pork chorizo, pork chops, pork feet, pork rib pieces, pork Boston butt products, pork hock and menudo mix.
The meat was vacuum-sealed and packed into cardboard boxes. Consumers may not see original A&D Foods labeling if retail stores applied their own price and safe-handling stickers.
USDA meat recall: check for EST. 1363
The key identifier is EST. 1363. FSIS said that number does not correspond to an establishment with a federal grant of inspection.
Because meat may have been repackaged at retail, compare questionable product with official FSIS recall information and label images rather than relying on store packaging alone.
Where was the recalled meat distributed?
Products were shipped to A&D Foods in Georgia and then to retail and restaurant locations nationwide.
FSIS warned some recalled product could remain in household refrigerators or freezers or in restaurant or retail storage.
No confirmed illnesses or injuries reported
As of the September 22, 2026 announcement, FSIS reported no confirmed illnesses or injuries associated with the recalled products.
The absence of reported illnesses does not make the products safe to eat. FSIS instructed consumers not to consume affected meat.
USDA meat recall: what consumers should do
Do not eat recalled products. FSIS advises discarding affected meat or returning it to the place of purchase. Restaurants and retailers should not sell or serve them.
Anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider.

What happens next
FSIS conducts recall-effectiveness checks to verify customer notification and removal from commerce.
The agency may update product lists or distribution information. Check official FSIS recall resources when evaluating potentially affected meat.
The bottom line: do not eat meat associated with the false “EST. 1363” inspection mark.
